{Need to verify
this one. The miles don't add up and the trail was different. The pictured
map may be out of date, especially concerning the lake at the end.}
Leaving
the dock at Daisy Farm campground it is 0.1 miles to the sign marking the
western end of the campground. The trail then begins a moderate climb
of about 70' over 0.17 miles where you come to the sign at the fork of
the trail that leads to Moskey Basin. The post says 0.2 miles to
Daisy Farm from there (GPS=0.27). For the first 0.2 miles the trail
crosses Benson Creek three times with gentle rolling up and downs.
It then turns into road grade until 0.33 miles when it crosses the creek
again. It continues road grade until 0.38 miles when it climbs a
large rock outcropping that looks like it goes along ways. Be careful
here because there is actually a cut to the right at 0.42 miles.
It then drops down steeply twice where it comes to a creek with a bridge
at 0.52 miles. The trail then crosses two small hills and down to
a wetlands area where, at 0.67 miles, boards start until 0.75 when it goes
into balsom forest. The trail then begins a gentle but continuos
uphil until 0.97 miles then it descends fast but rolling until 1.03 miles.
This will be a hill you will notice going the other way. The trail
then goes to boards until [SEE MOVIE}. At 1.12 miles it follows a
lake to the left until heading up at 1.20 miles. This is a gradual
uphill [SEE MOVIE] until reaching the Greenstone Ridge at 1.50 miles.

reaching Hatchett Lake at 0.3 miles (Map) or 0.5 miles (Greenstone post)
from the ridge. At the lake, the trail reaches the side trail to
Hatchet
Lake Campground which is 0.2 miles (Map) west. The trail continues
near Hatchet Lake until you cross a creek coming out of the lake.
The trail then passes through some hills and low areas until it meets the
Minong
Ridge Trail.

This trail starts .2 miles west of Three
Mile Campground. It is relatively flat for the first .5 miles
before it passes the Tobin Harbor Trail
and Tobin Creek. Right after it passes Tobin Creek, the trail comes
upon an open area on a slight uphill where Tobin Harbor is visible, the
trail can be hard to see here and, if not watching, looks like it goes
towards the harbor. It actually continues upward so, pay close attention
for rock karems going away from the harbor. The trail continues fairly
flat or, on a slight uphill, until you walk a small ridge with some wetlands
just south of the trail then, it begins a steep and exhausting climb up
to the Greenstone Ridge. The total ascent is approximately 300 feet
over about .75 miles. It ends at the Greenstone
Ridge Trail. Once on the Greenstone, it goes west towards Mt.
Franklin and Mt. Ojibway Tower or, east towards Lane
Cove Trail and the eastern Greenstone Ridge Trail.

Starting from the tower heading down [SEE MOVIE]. At 0.83 miles the
trail finishes it's last mild descent where it comes to boards over a wetlands
area. It then begins gently rolling downhills until 1.25 miles when
it flattens out only to immediatly start back to gentle rolling downhills.
Then, at 1.66 miles, the trail comes to rock outcroppings going down into
the campground area. The trail comes to the campground sign at 1.73
miles and the sign by the dock at 1.82 miles.

The trail starts near the west entrance to Feldtmann
Lake Campground. The trail is relatively flat for it's entire
distance. It follows a creek (Feldtmann Creek?) for most of it's
distance until you come to Lake Superior. There is a lot of Moose
activity in this area so, as you are walking, be alert. When you
reach Lake Superior you will find a red rock beach of the same material
as at Siskiwit Bay Campground. Looking west you can see Rock Of Ages
Lighthouse 6 miles away. If staying at Feldtmann Lake Campground,
this is a great place to walk to for viewing the sunset. It's short
distance gives you plenty of time to walk back afterwards.

The trail
The trail starts at Rock Harbor Lodge and
goes south along Rock Harbor before going inland. It will then head
back towards the harbor. At 0.7 miles from the lodge there is an ancient
copper mine site with an exhibit describing it. Just after leaving
there, there is a bypass trail that leads to the north side of the Stoll
Trail. The trail continues on for another .7 miles where it reaches
the north section of the trail. Another trail continues on to Scoville
point another .6 miles east. At Scoville Point there are breathtaking
views, life leasee cottages and you can see Passage Island Lighthouse.
On the way back, the trails goes to the north following Tobin Harbor.Just
before the trail reaches the lodge, is the remains of Smithwick Mine.

The trail starts off out of Rock Harbor near the ranger station and follows
ashphalt towards the efficientcy cabins. It turns to the left and
leaves the ashphalt where it passes the floatplane dock and begins to follow
the Tobin Harbor shoreline and stays relatively flat for the distance.
The trail ends at Mt. Franklin Trail
where Tobin Creek drains into the harbor. It is a scenic walk with
gentle up and downs it's entire length. The harbor is in view most
of the time and features lots of little islands and the opposite shore.
At 1.8 miles from Rock Harbor, you will pass a side trail that leads to
"Suzy's Cave". This is a cave that was cut into the rocks by the
waves when the Lake Superior shoreline was higher. It is approximately
.2 miles south of the Tobin Harbor trail.

This trail begins at the dock at Windigo
and follows a gravel road near the harbor. It passes a dock and fuel
storage shed then reaches a fork. To the south, is employee quarters.
To the north, the trail continues although a bit more narrow yet, still
gravel. This trail follows close to the harbor till it's end when
it comes out at sewage trenches built into a hill back to the south of
the trail. It reached the western road at Washington
Creek campground at .3 miles. It continues on past the middle,
western and group site road to the campgrounds before heading into grass
and woodlands. At .6 miles it comes to the post marking the Greenstone
Ridge trail to the south-east. The trail continues in more of
a north-western direction and starts going down till it crosses Washington
Creek and water guaging station at 1 mile. It then start on a moderate
uphill in a western direction until coming to the post that marks the start
of the Minong
Ridge trail and the Huginnin Cove
